Fresh off an international tour with the Iowa Ambassadors of Music, Addison Moore dropped by the studio with stories that ran from London landmarks to alpine views in Switzerland—and a few close calls with Parisian bicycles in between.
Moore earned her spot after former band director Courtney Ridge encouraged her to apply. After a short boot camp at Grinnell, the group flew out of Chicago and landed in London on July 7, performing several times before moving on to Paris, where the Louvre and a walk-all-day itinerary stood out.
Her favorite stop was Switzerland, where mountain-top mornings, a community fondue party, and learning local dances made lasting memories. On the road to Germany, Moore ducked home early to help crown the new fair queen—but new tour friends kept her in the loop, even mailing a souvenir ornament.
Now back stateside, Moore is wrapping up at Iowa Western with graduation set for December 12, then transferring to Northwest Missouri State this spring to continue in band while majoring in early childhood education. Her takeaway for younger students? Say yes to the big opportunities—even if they’re a little scary.
