RED OAK, Iowa — A Des Moines woman was arrested late Thursday night in Red Oak on a prescription drug charge.
According to the Red Oak Police Department, officers arrested 43-year-old Melissa Suzanne Wingfield of Des Moines at approximately 11:29 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, at the intersection of Broadway and Corning streets.
Wingfield was charged with unlawful possession of a prescription drug. The arrest report lists the charge as a serious misdemeanor.
Wingfield was transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where she was being held on a $1,000 cash or surety bond.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and Wingfield is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
