Two arrests reported Monday by Montgomery County deputies

RED OAK, Iowa — Montgomery County deputies reported two separate arrests Monday, Aug. 31. Both people taken into custody are from Council Bluffs. The first arrest followed a morning call about erratic driving on Highway 34. The second came that afternoon in Red Oak on an active out-of-county warrant.

Morning traffic stop on Highway 34

At about 11:47 a.m., deputies received a call of a white Dodge Durango driving erratically eastbound on Highway 34 near the Mills–Montgomery county line.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle near G Avenue and Highway Y34. Eric Shoemaker, 42, of Council Bluffs, was taken into custody for driving while revoked.

Shoemaker was transported to the Montgomery County Jail and held on a $1,000 bond. He was also cited for use of an electronic communication device and failure to provide proof of financial liability.

Afternoon warrant arrest in Red Oak

At about 2:30 p.m., Montgomery County deputies arrested Ryan Wulfekuhl, 44, of Council Bluffs, on an active Pottawattamie County warrant.

Wulfekuhl was taken into custody in the 100 block of Coolbaugh Street in Red Oak. He was charged with failure to appear on an original charge of felony forgery.

Wulfekuhl is being held on a $5,000 cash bond.

Summary
