Clarinda Activities Director and Assistant Principal Eli Bales shared a packed activity update as winter wraps up and spring gets rolling.
Highlights include FFA sub-districts on Feb. 17, National FCCLA Week activities, and FCA students helping with Night to Shine on Feb. 13 at the Elks Lodge in Shenandoah.
Clarinda music students are preparing for jazz contests and Parade of Bands in March, and three students recently participated in Cyclone Honor Band in Ames.
In sports, Clarinda girls bowling is at the state meet in Waterloo today at 3:00 PM, and the boys bowl Hawkeye 10 on Feb. 13 before districts in Council Bluffs on Feb. 16. Boys basketball opens postseason play at Red Oak on Feb. 16 at 7:00 PM (tickets on Bound).
Also underway: ticket sales for Clarinda vs. Atlantic at Busch Stadium in St. Louis on June 28, including the Cardinals game, a hot dog and soda, and the high school game afterward.
