A fatal house fire is under investigation near Griswold. Crews from Griswold, Lewis, and Cumberland responded around 6:07 a.m. Tuesday to 68444 560th Street. The home was fully engulfed and starting to collapse when firefighters arrived. After the fire was extinguished, a deceased individual was located inside. The Iowa State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating. The victim’s name is being withheld pending an autopsy and notification of next of kin.
