PAGE COUNTY: DOT SNOWPLOW REAR-ENDED ON HIGHWAY 2 NEAR SHENANDOAH
PAGE COUNTY, IA — A crash involving an Iowa Department of Transportation snowplow was reported early Friday, February 20, 2026, in rural Shenandoah.
According to the Page County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at 5:54 a.m. to the area of Highway 2 and F Avenue for a collision involving a DOT snowplow
.
Investigators say the snowplow involved was a 2011 International truck that was clearing roadways westbound on Highway 2 with its emergency lights activated. The driver of the snowplow reportedly slowed to make a turn onto F Avenue.
A second vehicle — a 2004 Hyundai sport utility vehicle — was also traveling westbound on Highway 2 behind the snowplow. The Hyundai was driven by Xavier Jay Huntley. The sheriff’s office reported Huntley attempted to slow down but lost control on the icy roadway and struck the rear of the Iowa DOT snowplow.
The sheriff’s office reported the snowplow sustained minor damage and the Hyundai sustained heavy damage.
Two people were transported to Shenandoah Medical Center.
The Page County Sheriff’s Office handled the investigation.
