Stanton Schools Wrap Up Year with Student Achievements, Upcoming Events, and New FCS Program

 Stanton Community School District is heading into the final stretch of the school year with several student activities, recognitions, and end-of-year events on the calendar.
Lori Burton, Family and Consumer Science teacher at Stanton, said the district’s final day of school will be Thursday, May 28, with an early dismissal. She said the slightly later end date is tied to the district’s four-day school week schedule.

  • Stanton’s final day of school: Thursday, May 28, with early dismissal.
  • Seniors’ last day: Wednesday, May 20.
  • Senior baccalaureate: Sunday, May 17, at 7:00 p.m.
  • FFA Awards Banquet: Monday, May 18, at 6:00 p.m.
  • Eighth grade graduation: Tuesday, May 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the Stanton gymnasium.
  • Job openings: junior high/high school football and basketball cheerleading sponsor or coach; bus drivers and substitute bus drivers.
  • Book Blast: elementary students will receive at least seven books to read over summer.
  • Bike Rodeo: students learned bike safety, traffic laws, hand signals, and safe riding practices.
  • Splash Learn Springboard Challenge: Stanton placed first in English and third in math in the state.
  • Third grade field trip: Anderson Conservation/Montgomery County Conservation activities, including fishing, nature walks, birds, and journaling.
  • Elementary Ag Day: students learned about agriculture, livestock, crops, and farm-related stations led by FFA students and community helpers.
  • FCS/art field trip: students visited Clarinda Carnegie Art Museum, The Art Church in Malvern, Fine Arts on Fifth, local murals, sculptures, and businesses.
  • Upcoming FCS program: Kids Feeding Kids partnership, funded by the Patrick Mahomes Foundation, focused on food insecurity and take-and-bake meals.
