4-H Find Out Night — Wednesday, October 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the White Fair Building in Red Oak

Enrollment for the 2026–27 4-H program year opened September 1. Lindgren said 4-H is not just for farm kids or livestock projects.

 

 

 

4-H Find Out Night — Wednesday, October 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the White Fair Building in Red Oak. Families can learn about 4-H, meet clubs, and take part in activities and games. A free-will donation meal will be offered. There is no cost to attend and no commitment to join

 

Clover Kids is open to kindergarten through third grade, with groups in Villisca, Stanton, and Red Oak. Monthly meetings, workshops such as table setting, animals, and painting, and county fair participation are part of the program. There is no cost to join Clover Kids, thanks to sponsorship from the Montgomery County Extension Council.

Traditional 4-H clubs are open to youth in fourth through 12th grade. Montgomery County has four clubs. Activities during the year have included dairy farm tours, pumpkin patches, sledding, community service, and workshops in table setting, barn quilts, sewing, livestock, and photography. The 4-H year runs September 1 through August, with clubs typically wrapping up after county fair in July.

Registration is done through 4-H Online. The Extension office can walk families through the process. Once a family is in the system, information carries over from year to year, but members must re-enroll each year
