The Montgomery County Family YMCA is launching a new community bike ride series this summer.
Membership and Community Engagement Director Georgana Derr said the first ride is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, at 6:30 p.m. Riders will start at the YMCA.
Derr said three routes are planned, and the first route will be flat to help make the event welcoming for families and riders of different experience levels.
The bike rides are open to the community. Riders do not need to be YMCA members to participate.
Executive Director Adam Graybill said the goal is simple: bring people together, ride bikes, and enjoy time as a community. He said e-bikes, scooters, and other wheels are welcome.
The event will also include bike decorations and a cookout afterward.
Derr encouraged families to dust off their bikes and come out for an evening of fun. The YMCA plans to host the rides once a month during the summer.
