Two-Vehicle Accident Reported on Washington Avenue in Red Oak

RED OAK, Iowa — The Red Oak Police Department investigated a two-vehicle accident that occurred Sunday, June 7, at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Washington Avenue.

According to the report, Cameron Edward Aloysius Skarnulis was driving a 2019 Hyundai Sonata eastbound on Washington Avenue. Raymond Darrell Boswell was operating a 1982 Chevy K30 pickup and was backing out of a parking spot in front of Belt Auto Center.

The report states Boswell looked but did not see the Skarnulis vehicle and backed into it, damaging the front fender of the Hyundai.

Damage to the 2019 Hyundai Sonata was estimated at approximately $8,000. Damage to the 1982 Chevy K30 pickup was estimated at approximately $500.

No injuries were reported, and all parties denied rescue. No citations were issued.
