Two people were injured in a one-vehicle crash Saturday evening in Nodaway County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 6:51 p.m. on Saturday, July 4th, on 230th Street just east of Jasmine Road, about two miles north of Maryville.
The report says a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling eastbound on 230th Street when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The pickup ran off the south side of the roadway, overturned in a field, and came to rest on its top, facing north.
The driver, a 19-year-old male from Frakes, Kentucky, suffered minor injuries and was transported by Nodaway County Ambulance to Mosaic of Maryville. A passenger, a 32-year-old male from Red Oak, Iowa, suffered moderate injuries and was transported by Nodaway County Ambulance to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
The Highway Patrol report indicates neither occupant was wearing a safety device. The Silverado was totaled and towed by Kizer’s of Maryville.
