Pedestrian Killed in Page County Crash Near Essex

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night in rural Page County.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the Page County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday, July 11, following a vehicle-pedestrian crash on D Avenue, approximately 2,300 feet south of 130th Street.

Investigators determined that a southbound 2014 Toyota Venza driven by 26-year-old Elyzabeth Henry of Essex struck a person who was walking near or on the roadway.

The pedestrian was identified as Roselyn Robbin Stark. Stark died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The Page County Sheriff’s Office and Essex Fire Department assisted the Iowa State Patrol at the scene. The incident remains under investigation
