Red Oak Man Arrested on Elder Abuse and Financial Exploitation Charges

Red Oak, Iowa — On August 7, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m., officers with the Red Oak Police Department arrested Timothy Leroy McConnaughy, 49, of Red Oak.

McConaughey was taken into custody at 1045 N Street, Apartment 11C, in Red Oak. He faces two Class D felony charges: Financial Exploitation of an Older Individual and Elder Abuse causing Psychological Harm.

McConaughey was transported to the Montgomery County Jail and is being held on a $10,000 bond.
