VILLISCA, Iowa — The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Villisca man following an investigation Sunday night.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies arrested 35-year-old Steven Dukes of Villisca at approximately 9:50 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2026, in the 400 block of East Second Street in Villisca.
The arrest followed a brief investigation. Dukes was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where he was booked on a charge of assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor.
Dukes was being held on $1,000 bond at the time the information was released.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
