Red Oak School District leaders say the district continues to perform at a high level in career and academic planning, earning one of the top DCAP scores in southwest Iowa.
Officials say the district scored a 29 out of 36, well above the regional average, while continuing to expand opportunities for students in areas like work-based learning, career exploration, and college credit.
New efforts are also starting earlier, with fifth and sixth grade students now exploring careers, financial planning, and real-world decision-making.
A new career planning platform called Xello will also be implemented for grades 6 through 12 to help guide students toward future education and career paths.
District leaders say continued partnerships with local businesses and a focus on real-world skills will be key moving forward.
