The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports an early morning traffic stop led to the arrest of an Essex woman

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Iowa — The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports an early morning traffic stop led to the arrest of an Essex woman on April 17, 2026.

According to the report, at approximately 12:07 a.m., deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Highway 48 near the Page/Montgomery County line.

Following an investigation, deputies arrested 34-year-old Treasure Nicole Wendy Bengtson of Essex. Authorities charged Bengtson with driving while barred.

Bengtson was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where she was being held on a $2,000 bond.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office handled the incident.
