Red Oak Receives Work Zone Sign Grant

Red Oak, Iowa  was one of ten small Iowa communities to receive a 2026 Work Zone Sign Package Program Grant which is administered by the Local Technical Assistance Program. Funding comes from the Iowa Department of Transportation. The new equipment was delivered to the Street, Water and Sewer Department employees on April 14, 2026 by Paul Albritton from the LTAP.

The equipment package received includes:

4 Road Work Ahead 36 inch roll up signs with snap overlays that can change to Road Closed Ahead

2 One Lane Road Ahead signs 36 inch roll up

2 Be Prepared to Stop signs 36 inch roll up

8 sign stands

10 – 42 inch channelizers with 30 lb bases

16 – 28 inch cones with reflective bands

2 Type III Barricades

6 high viz safety vests

The ten communities receiving the ten grants in 2026 were:

Belle Plaine

Britt

Elkhart

Hawarden

Inwood

Kingsley

LaMotte

Newell

Red Oak
