Red Oak woman arrested on child sex offense charges

RED OAK, Iowa — The Red Oak Police Department said officers arrested 39-year-old Vanessa Renee Sickels of Red Oak at about 1 p.m. on April 19 at 604 E. Washington Ave. in Red Oak.

According to Red Oak Police, Sickels was taken into custody following an investigation and was charged with lascivious acts with a child, a Class C felony; grooming, a Class D felony; and indecent contact with a child, an aggravated misdemeanor. The arrest report also lists that she was being held on an active warrant.

Police said Sickels was transported to the Montgomery County Jail and held on a $10,000 bond.

The Council Bluffs Police Department assisted Red Oak Police in the investigation.

Court proceedings will determine the outcome of the charges.
