A man has died following a single-vehicle accident Thursday night in Montgomery County

Red Oak, Iowa — A man has died following a single-vehicle accident Thursday night in Montgomery County.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the Montgomery County Communications Center received a call at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2026, reporting a single-vehicle accident in the 2300 block of C Avenue.

Deputies responded to the scene and located a17 yr old male who had sustained life-threatening injuries due to a single vehicle ATV accident. The victim was transported by Red Oak Rescue personnel to Montgomery County Memorial Hospital before being airlifted by medical helicopter to Nebraska Medical Center.

Authorities say the man later succumbed to his injuries.

Agencies assisting at the scene included the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Communications Center, Mills County Communication Center, Montgomery County Emergency Management Agency, Red Oak Fire and Rescue, and Lifenet.
