Griswold Elementary Principal Nigel Horton stopped by KCSI to share a mid-winter update that included student recognition, upcoming assessments, winter activities, and ongoing district planning conversations
Griswold Elementary Principal Nigel Horton joined KCSI with several school updates.
FAST testing begins next week. FAST is a quick math and literacy screener given three times per year to help staff confirm student progress and adjust interventions or enrichment as needed.
Horton also explained how the school uses Panorama Student Success to review multi-year trend lines in attendance and assessment data to better support students.
The district continues gathering information on the four-day school week conversation as part of strategic planning, primarily focused on recruitment and retention. No decision has been made, and the board does not anticipate a change for next school year.
Reminders and activities: No Tiger Cub Preschool on Friday, January 16. Friday’s home basketball game is Camo Night, and there is a home wrestling tournament on Saturday. Congratulations as well to the Griswold girls wrestling team for being named Corner Conference Girls’ Wrestling Champions
