CRESTON, Iowa — A two-vehicle accident occurred Thursday morning at the intersection of Howard Street and Cherry Street in Creston.
According to the Creston Police Department, the crash happened at approximately 8:09 a.m. on March 12, 2026.
Police say a 2020 Honda Fit driven by Kathryn Helen Branch, 56, of Creston, was traveling eastbound on Howard Street and entered the intersection with Cherry Street. A 2006 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a juvenile was traveling southbound on Cherry Street at the time. The pickup is owned by Nathan Ross Baier of Greenfield.
According to the report narrative, Branch told officers she looked but did not see the approaching vehicle and stated the sun was in her eyes. The front driver’s side of the Honda struck the passenger-side front of the Chevrolet.
The Honda’s airbag deployed during the collision. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and each had an estimated $5,000 in damage. The Honda was towed from the scene by C&J Towing, while the Chevrolet was privately towed.
No citations were listed in the report and no injuries were reported.
The roadway was cleared at approximately 8:48 a.m., and the incident was fully cleared at about 8:52 a.m.
