Clarinda Economic Development Corporation: Business Park and Major Initiatives

Amy McQueen reports that economic development efforts in Clarinda are progressing well, driven by strong community collaboration and momentum on several key projects.

The Hugh and Maxine Louden Business Park is nearing shovel-ready status. Infrastructure (including turning lanes) is largely complete, with roads the remaining piece. The park is certified, and there are now two purchase agreements in place (up from one previously). Announcements will come when the interested parties are ready. McQueen highlighted the rare generosity of the 60-acre land donation and the park’s role in expanding the tax base.

She is also revisiting the community-driven Vision 35 plan with Leadership Clarinda. Many of its recommendations (developed through focus groups, meetings, and surveys) are already moving forward.
