Farmland Leasing Meeting
A Farmland Leasing Meeting will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, at the Villisca Community Building.
The workshop is intended for farmland owners and tenants interested in learning about recent surveys, leasing trends and market outlooks. The meeting will also address communication between landowners and tenants, the fundamentals of farmland leasing and the role leasing can play in farm estate and succession planning.
ISU Extension farm management specialist Tim Christensen will facilitate the program.
The registration fee is $25 per person. Advance registration is requested, although walk-ins will be accepted. Participants will receive a workbook and have opportunities to ask individual questions.
Master Conservationist Program
Registration is open for the first Master Conservationist Program offered through a partnership involving Montgomery County ISU Extension and Outreach, Page County ISU Extension and Outreach, Montgomery County Conservation and Page County Conservation.
The nine-week program begins Thursday, September 3. Sessions will be held each Thursday evening beginning at 5 p.m., with locations alternating between Montgomery and Page counties.
Participants will visit different conservation sites and learn from specialists about prairies, wetlands, watersheds, aquatic environments and other conservation practices. The length of each session will vary according to the location and subject.
Registration is limited to the first 20 participants. The fee is $50 per person and includes meals and program materials.
