Glenwood is planning a multi-day celebration for America’s 250th birthday celebration!

From June 26th – July 5th, take part in community celebrations, good food, family activities, history, crafts, games, FIREWORKS, and so much more!
Schedule of events (we will continue to add to this as we are made aware):
Friday, June 26th:
– Scavenger Hunt begins! More details to come.
– Late Night Evening Lilies at Hillsdale Lily Garden, 6p-9p
– Glenwood Betterment will begin collecting artifacts for our 2026 Time Capsule.
Saturday, June 27th:
– Glenwood Fire Department – Pancake Feed! 8a-11a at the station.
– Lawnmower Poker Run. More details to come.
– Henderson’s Community Celebration, including a time capsule, quilt show, and community events.
– Operation Pacific starring John Wayne playing at the Rex Theatre
– Bozak & Morrisey show at Davies Amphitheater ($5 at the gate or Gold Card)
– Touch of Gray band at Fairview Golf Course in Malvern
– Fright Night FIREWORKS at Scare Iowa!
– Malvern’s FIREWORKS celebration!
Sunday, June 28th:
– Fun on our town square!! Starting at 1p, Hanson House Train will be giving rides to kids, the Girl Scouts will be hosting carnival games and facepainting, and the Eagles Club will be serving up hot dogs!
– Trinity Lutheran Church Patriotic Quilt Show, 1p-3p
– Weary Ramblers band at Best Nest Farm – get your tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.com/…/best-nest-fest-tickets…
– USAF Heartland of America Band at Davies Amphitheater – Free admission!
Monday, June 29th:
– Pie Social at Linwood Estates, 530p-730p
Tuesday, June 30th:
– Eat Local! Support our local restaurants in town.
Wednesday, July 1st:
– Farmer’s Market, 4p-630p on Town Square
– Kid’s Entrepreneurial Market! Hosted by the Glenwood Alumni Association, this is a time for kids to sell their products (bracelets, 3D prints, art, etc) at the Legion from 4p-630p. $5 fee for a table.
– First Aid for Fireworks hosted by Mills County Public Health, 4p-630p at Farmer’s Market. Come learn how to celebrate America safely!
Thursday, July 2nd:
– Bingo at the American Legion. More details to come.
– Trivia at Keg Creek Brewery, 7p
– FIREWORKS in Mineola!
Friday, July 3rd:
– Red, White, and Blue Parade hosted by the Eagles Club – more details to come!
– After the parade, visit the Trinity Lutheran Church Patriotic Quilt Show.
– Bingo at the Legion. More details to come.
– Bella Terre Celebration and FIREWORKS!
Saturday, July 4th:
– HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!
– Picnic in the Park! Enjoy our beautiful lake park during the day.
– Mills County Historical Museum will be open with their historical artifacts and military exhibits.
– High Heel show at Davies Amphitheater – Free admission!
– FIREWORKS at the park!!
Sunday, July 5th:
– Glenwood Betterment and Beautification will deliver the time capsule to the Museum.
