Nathan Weston, PharmD — Pharmacy Manager, MCMH Pharmacy and Chelsee Magill — Lead Pharmacy Tech
National Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, October 24. For that day, stop in during open hours, 8:30 to noon. Bring meds in a trash bag if needed. Extra bins on hand.
• Anyone can use the bins. Free. Do not have to be a patient.
• Refused: needles and sharps. Illegal substances, including marijuana. Notes are on the bins.
• Do not flush. Weston cited a study that found medication levels in waterways.
• Most expired medicine loses potency. A few antibiotics can turn into a toxic byproduct. Get a fresh order if you are treating something.
National Pharmacy Week. Tomorrow (Oct. 20) is Pharmacy Technician Day.
• This week: free grab bags — pill containers, pens, notepads with the logo.
• Tuesday, Oct. 20: 10 percent off any over-the-counter product in the pharmacy
