Mills County Sheriff’s Office reports six arrests
GLENWOOD, Iowa — The Mills County Sheriff’s Office reports six arrests between September 14 and September 27, 2026.
According to the sheriff’s office, 65-year-old Helen Ann Schmidt of Red Oak was arrested September 14 at 1:47 a.m. near Krutzinger Avenue and U.S. Highway 275 in Glenwood. Schmidt was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was listed at $1,000.
On September 15 at 6:40 a.m., 21-year-old Austin Tyler Allison of Des Moines was arrested on Sharp Street in Glenwood. Allison was charged with assault while displaying a dangerous weapon. Bond was listed at $2,000.
The sheriff’s office also reports 35-year-old Blake Ryon Cummings of Council Bluffs was arrested September 16 at 6:50 a.m. on Sharp Street in Glenwood for violation of probation. Bond was listed at $5,000.
On September 18 at 4:20 p.m., 67-year-old Jeffrey Charles Thomas of Silver City was arrested near U.S. Highway 34 and Keys Avenue in Glenwood. Thomas was charged with assault. Bond was listed at $300.
The Mills County Sheriff’s Office reports 32-year-old John William Johnson of Bellevue, Nebraska, was arrested September 20 at 9:46 p.m. near Allis Road and Bunge Avenue in Council Bluffs on an out-of-county or out-of-state warrant. Bond was listed at $1,100.
On September 27 at 7:06 p.m., 37-year-old Ryan Scott Wendt of Pacific Junction was arrested on Sharp Street in Glenwood for failure to appear. Bond was listed at $1,000.
All six arrests were made by the Mills County Sheriff’s Office.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
