Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports separate arrests

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Iowa — The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has reported arrests in two separate incidents.

Deputies began an investigation on August 18 after receiving a report of a possible theft of road construction signs at 220th Street and L Avenue. Following the investigation, deputies arrested 18-year-old Conner Vanhoose of Clarinda on September 5. Vanhoose was taken into custody in the 100 block of West Coolbaugh Street in Red Oak and charged with third-degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor. He was being held on $2,000 bond.

The Sheriff’s Office also reported that a 17-year-old juvenile male was taken into custody September 5 in connection with the investigation and charged with fifth-degree criminal mischief. The juvenile was summoned into juvenile court and turned over to a guardian.

In a separate incident, Montgomery County deputies arrested 24-year-old Carmen Solari of Corning at approximately 8:30 p.m. September 5. Solari was taken into custody in the 3000 block of 102nd Street in Elliott. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where he was booked and charged with assault, a simple misdemeanor. His bond was set at $300.

All charges are accusations, and those charged are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
