Ryan Beeson and Sharon Bradley, both representing the Chamber, said the project is aimed at improving the look of Broadway as a key entrance and travel route through Red Oak. Volunteers are asked to meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Legion shelter house at Legion Park, located between the fire station and the YMCA. The cleanup is expected to run until noon.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring hand tools such as loppers, rakes, weed eaters, gloves, or other basic cleanup equipment. Beeson said crews will be divided into sections along Broadway to remove dead limbs, suckers, saplings, branches, and general debris. Bradley said bags will be provided, and Chamber volunteers will later collect the bags and haul debris away.
The effort comes as Red Oak prepares for Junction Days, which Beeson noted is less than 30 days away. Organizers say the project is not only about Broadway, but also about encouraging residents to help neighbors and keep properties looking their best following recent storm damage.
Bradley said the cleanup is a good opportunity for civic groups, clubs, organizations, and individuals to spend a few hours helping the community. Organizers say all volunteers are welcome, and the more people who attend, the faster the work will go.
