RED OAK, Iowa — The Red Oak Police Department reports the arrest of a Red Oak man early Saturday morning.
According to the department, officers arrested 30-year-old Daniel John Platt of Red Oak at approximately 2:23 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2026. Platt was charged with operating while intoxicated, second offense, and eluding.
The arrest report lists the OWI charge as an aggravated misdemeanor and the eluding charge as a serious misdemeanor. The press release states Platt was being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
