Red Oak man arrested on domestic abuse and interference charges
RED OAK, Iowa — A Red Oak man was arrested early Wednesday on domestic abuse-related charges following an incident investigated by the Red Oak Police Department.
According to Red Oak Police, officers arrested 51-year-old Shannon Ray Porter of Red Oak at approximately 12:23 a.m. on March 12, 2026. Porter was taken into custody on charges of Domestic Abuse Assault – 1st Offense and Interference with Official Acts.
Following the arrest, Porter was transported to the Montgomery County Jail where he was being held without bond. Authorities indicated he is being held on a mandatory no-bond hold pending an initial court appearance.
The Red Oak Police Department handled the arrest and investigation. Charges filed in a criminal case are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
