Red Oak Police report arrest on domestic abuse assault charge

RED OAK, Iowa — The Red Oak Police Department reports the arrest of a Red Oak man on a domestic abuse assault charge.

According to the department, officers arrested 44-year-old Troy Scott Williams on Monday, September 28, 2026, at approximately 5:40 p.m. in the 1000 block of East Cherry Street in Red Oak.

Williams was charged with domestic abuse assault with a weapon, first offense, an aggravated misdemeanor.

Williams was transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where he was being held without bond at the time the information was released.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
