The Stanton/Red Oak Dance Team is in year two as a combined squad, and the coaches say the team is big enough and good enough this year to do more than last year’s short competition slate. What they need the money for:
Seventeen dancers and two coaches. Multi-day competitions, travel, meals, uniforms and costumes, plus state in December and nationals in Florida in March. Last year they did state and one other meet. This year they added competitions because the roster is deeper.
Ways to help
• Letters already went to family, friends, and local businesses. Cash donations are still welcome.
• LT Farms of Lenox — four snack mixes and two beef sticks, through October. Find a dancer, message the Stanton Dance Team Facebook page, or contact Jana or Brooke.
• Concession stands at Red Oak and Stanton volleyball games. If you have seen the team working a stand, that money is for travel and meets.
• Garage sale Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6–7, in Stanton. Mickey Anderson is lending a building. Donate items you would rather not sell yourself. What sells goes to the dancers.
• Bake sale Wednesday, Nov. 25, in the lower level of Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Jed Westover offered the space. Dancers sell throughout the day. Details still being set.
• Kendra Scott, Village Pointe, Omaha, Saturday, Dec. 6, noon to 2 p.m. Mention Stanton/Red Oak Dance Team at checkout. A 48-hour online link follows. First year for this fundraiser.
• Pizza Hut night Monday, Jan. 19. Jeremy gave the team the night to greet and bus tables. A share of sales that night comes back to the team.
• Annual showcase Saturday, Feb. 6, Red Oak High School. Last year other high school teams came, plus Southwestern and Iowa Western.
