The Shenandoah Community School District is closing out the school year with a strong overall review from Superintendent Dr. Kerri Nelson, who said students and staff have seen success across academics, activities, fine arts, and athletics. The final day of class for students is Thursday, May 28

- An August session will help students transition back before the new school year.
- Shenandoah officially joins the Western Iowa Conference next school year.
- K-8 facility work continues, including HVAC, roof sections, and heat pump replacements.
- The school board will discuss PPEL renewal this summer.
- Shenandoah is still looking for two math teachers.
- Ignite Online School has around 380 students.
- Ignite graduated about 110 students this year between midyear and spring graduations.
- Wednesday’s district activities included fifth- and sixth-grade track and field day and preschool graduation.
