STANTON, Iowa — A community spaghetti supper is set for this Friday at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Stanton, offering residents a chance to enjoy a meal while supporting a meaningful cause.
The fundraiser will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church, located at 308 Eastern Avenue in Stanton. The event is designed to raise funds to help local children attend Twin Lakes Bible Camp this summer.
The meal will include spaghetti, breadsticks, salad, and a variety of desserts. Organizers say attendees can dine in at the church or take advantage of convenient takeout options.
There is no ticket required for the event. Instead, the supper operates as a free will donation, allowing guests to give whatever amount they feel comfortable contributing.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will go directly toward camp registration fees for students. According to Pastor Matt King, every dollar raised is used to help offset the cost of sending kids to camp, with no funds going toward food or event expenses.
Camp registration typically costs between $350 and $400 per student. The church already provides a 50 percent discount to families and uses fundraisers like this to ensure that no child is prevented from attending due to financial limitations.
The fundraiser supports attendance at Twin Lakes Bible Camp, located about two hours north of the area near Manson, Iowa. The camp offers programs for students ranging from elementary school through high school, featuring activities such as chapel services, Bible study, games, swimming, and outdoor recreation.
Pastor King says camp can have a lasting impact on young people, helping them build friendships, grow in their faith, and develop lifelong memories.
Those who cannot attend the supper but would still like to contribute can donate online by visiting stantoniowa.org and selecting the Twin Lakes Camp fund option.
Community members are encouraged to attend, enjoy a meal, and support local youth through this opportunity.
