A Red Oak man was arrested Tuesday night following an incident involving a firearm.

RED OAK, Iowa — A Red Oak man was arrested Tuesday night following an incident involving a firearm.

According to the Red Oak Police Department, officers arrested 44-year-old Troy Scott Williams on April 7, 2026, at approximately 10:47 p.m.

Williams was taken into custody in the 1009 block of East Cherry Street in Red Oak and charged with reckless use of a firearm resulting in no injury, as well as a weapons law violation.

Following his arrest, Williams was transported to the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Center, where he was being held on a $300 bond.

The Red Oak Police Department handled the arrest.
