It’s a busy and exciting stretch for the Stanton Community School District as students and staff move into the spring season with a full slate of activities, achievements, and upcoming events.
Leland Lantz highlighted a week filled with music, including a junior high and high school concert, followed by participation in the Corner Conference Band Festival in Bedford.
Academically and organizationally, the district shared several important updates. Due to a previous snow day, school will be in session Monday, March 30. There will be a two-hour early dismissal on Thursday, April 2, followed by no school on April 3 and April 6.
The district is also currently hiring for several positions, including teaching roles, coaching positions, and a bus driver for the 2026–27 school year.
Stanton’s FCCLA chapter recently saw success at the State Leadership Conference in Cedar Rapids. Two students earned silver medals for their chapter project highlighting a community lasagna giveaway initiative.
The district is also encouraging community involvement through its Teammates Mentoring program, which is seeking additional mentors to support students.
One of the biggest upcoming events is the Corner Conference Art Show, hosted in Stanton this year. The show will feature artwork from across the conference and will be open to the public Saturday, March 28 from 4 to 6 p.m., and Monday, March 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the high school gym.
In addition, preparations are underway for prom and after-prom activities, with organizers seeking donations in the form of gift cards or contributions.
From academics and arts to athletics and leadership opportunities, Stanton students continue to stay engaged and make an impact both in and out of the classroom.
