VFW Post 7224 continues mission of serving veterans across southwest Iowa
Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7224 in Shenandoah remain active across southwest Iowa and southeast Nebraska, participating in community events, supporting neighboring posts and raising money to assist veterans facing difficult circumstances.
Post Commander Ernie Robinson said the organization regularly works with veterans and VFW posts in communities including Red Oak and Nebraska City. Although the post is based in Shenandoah, its members participate in parades, color guards, festivals and veterans’ activities throughout the region.
Robinson said the post’s primary mission is helping fellow veterans and their families during times of need. Assistance may be provided for unexpected medical expenses or other financial hardships, particularly when other veterans’ programs cannot immediately address the problem.
