Villisca man arrested on drug possession charge following traffic stop

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Iowa — A Villisca man was arrested Wednesday night following a traffic stop in Montgomery County.

According to a press release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop at Highway 71 and 265th Street at approximately 9:39 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2. Following an investigation, deputies arrested 55-year-old Keith Allan Currin of Villisca on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, first offense, a serious misdemeanor.

Currin was transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where the Sheriff’s Office reported he was being held on $1,000 bond at the time of the release.
