Executive Director Adam Graybill and Membership and Community Engagement Director Georgana Derr said the YMCA has been working to brighten the facility, build staff, and offer more opportunities for members and community residents
The YMCA has several summer activities planned, including pickleball clinics, a blacklight pickleball tournament, tennis camps, a patriotic golf tournament, community bike rides, and expanded youth and family programming.
Derr said the YMCA wants people to stop in, visit with staff, check Facebook for updates, and take advantage of the facility.
The YMCA is also expanding building hours beginning June 1. Monday through Friday hours will be 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday hours will expand to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The YMCA will also continue offering 24-hour access as an add-on for members.
Graybill said the YMCA is also preparing for new Precor weight room equipment, with delivery expected June 9. Cardio equipment will be moved into a new cardio room in the former tennis viewing area.
The YMCA is also working to expand evening fitness options and is looking for people interested in teaching classes. Graybill said the Y can help potential instructors pursue certifications and training.
Officials said the overall goal is to make the YMCA more welcoming, active, and family-oriented.
