Stanton Library Ice Cream Social
Annual Fundraiser Set for Wednesday, August 19, at the Viking Center
Mark your calendars for a sweet evening that supports a local treasure. The Stanton Public Library will host its annual Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, August 19, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the community room of the Viking Center, located next to the school.
Most of the ice cream will be homemade, with plenty of toppings and other goodies to enjoy. The event operates on free-will donations—look for the jar on the table and give generously, knowing every dollar goes back into the library for books and programming.

New 501(c)(3) Group Brings Tax-Deductible Support to Local Library
A new community organization is ready to strengthen the Stanton Public Library. The Friends of the Stanton Library, a newly formed 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is now accepting tax-deductible donations that stay right in Stanton to support programming, books, supplies, and resources beyond what city tax dollars can cover.
The group currently has five board members who have put in significant work to establish the organization and get all the legal details in place.
“We’re a group of community members who believe in the power of our library to inspire, educate, and connect,” said Katie Shearer, one of the founding board members. “Basically, we’re a group where we can take donations that are tax deductible for people. And that money stays right at the library.”
