RED OAK — A Red Oak man was transported by air following a rollover accident Tuesday afternoon south of Red Oak.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were notified of an automatic crash detection at approximately 3:42 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, in the 2100 block of Hickory Avenue.

When deputies arrived, they found a 2019 Jeep Wrangler resting on its top in the west ditch.

The Sheriff’s Office reported that 42-year-old Ryan Adams of Red Oak and a juvenile passenger were traveling southbound on Hickory Avenue when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle entered the west ditch, struck a power pole and rolled onto its top.

Adams was transported by air to the University of Nebraska Medical Center by LifeNet for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The juvenile passenger was transported by Red Oak Rescue to Montgomery County Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said charges and/or citations are pending as the accident remains under investigation.
