Montgomery County Board Approves Five-Year 28E Agreement with Iowa DNR
The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a five-year Intergovernmental (28E) Agreement with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources at its October 27 meeting.
The agreement (ID 26ESDWQBDWATT001) covers the county’s public health sanitarian, who handles well testing and related duties. It allows Montgomery County to issue well permits under DNR rules. The county tests the wells and reports the results to the DNR. Supervisors were told this is a standard agreement renewed every five years.
Chair Charla Schmid confirmed the approval was unanimous. The item was listed under Public Health – Sanitarian on the agenda, with action as necessary.
