Arrest Made in Red Oak Theft Investigation

RED OAK, Iowa — An arrest has been made following a theft report in Red Oak.

According to the Red Oak Police Department, officers responded March 3, 2026, to a report of a theft at New Cooperative in Red Oak. After an investigation, officers reviewed security camera footage and identified the suspect as Jesse Donald Trost, 44, of Red Oak.

Police say Trost was charged with Theft in the 4th Degree, a serious misdemeanor. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail and held on a $1,000 bond.

All criminal charges are merely accusations, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
