Nodaway man arrested after traffic stop near Highway 34 and 200th Street

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Iowa — Nodaway man arrested after traffic stop near Highway 34 and 200th Street

A Nodaway man was arrested early Wednesday morning following a traffic stop in Montgomery County.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 12:08 a.m. on March 18, 2026, a K-9 unit conducted a traffic stop at Highway 34 and 200th Street. During the investigation, K-9 Rudick was deployed and alerted to the vehicle.

Authorities say Travis Gaunt of Nodaway was arrested and charged with driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor, and possession of methamphetamine, first offense, a serious misdemeanor. Gaunt was transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where he was being held on $2,000 bond.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was the agency involved in the arrest.
