RED OAK, Iowa — A Red Oak man was arrested Thursday afternoon on an assault charge following an incident investigated by the Red Oak Police Department.
According to an arrest report, officers took 66-year-old David Carl Scroggins into custody at approximately 3:45 p.m. on April 17, 2026.
The report indicates Scroggins was charged with Simple Assault, a violation under Iowa Code 708.2(6).
According to the report, Red Oak Police officers arrested Scroggins on the charge and transported him to the Montgomery County Jail, where he was being held on a $300 bond.
Scroggins was listed as being from Red Oak. The Red Oak Police Department handled the investigation and arrest.
