Iowa Economic Development Authority and Iowa Finance Authority Director Debi Durham says programs designed to help small communities grow are making a real impact across the state.
Durham, who is in her 15th year in the dual leadership role, visited Southwest Iowa this week and pointed to the Catalyst Grant program as one of the most effective tools for rural revitalization. She says the state offers multiple funding options, but communities must first develop a clear vision for their future.
Durham also discussed Iowa’s efforts to attract new residents, noting strong interest from out-of-state individuals looking for affordability, safety, and quality of life.
Durham added that Iowa continues to rank highly for affordability and millennial homeownership, making it a strong option for those looking to relocate.
Durham plans to step down from her role in January alongside Governor Kim Reynolds, concluding nearly 16 years of service.
