A Red Oak man was cited following a traffic stop early Tuesday morning in Montgomery County

Red Oak, Iowa — A Red Oak man was cited following a traffic stop early Tuesday morning in Montgomery County.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on April 29, 2026, at approximately 12:12 a.m. Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and West 3rd Street in Red Oak.

Following an investigation, 41-year-old Randon Phelps of Red Oak was cited into court on a charge of Unlawful Possession of Prescription Pills, a serious misdemeanor.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office handled the incident.
