Two-Vehicle Accident Reported at Highway 34 and Senate Avenue in Red Oak
RED OAK, Iowa — A two-vehicle property damage accident was reported Monday morning at the intersection of Highway 34 and Senate Avenue, according to a report from Red Oak Police Department.
The accident occurred on March 30, 2026, at approximately 7:40 a.m., when officers with the Red Oak Police Department were called to the 100 block of East Senate Avenue for a reported crash.
According to the report, Raymond Stanley Waller of Red Oak was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado. The second vehicle, a 2016 Chevrolet, was driven by Annalise Lynn Ortiz of Red Oak.
Upon arrival, officers observed both vehicles parked just east of the intersection along the side of the roadway. After speaking with the drivers and witnesses, it was determined that Waller had been traveling eastbound on Highway 34 before turning north onto the frontage road toward East Senate Avenue.
Ortiz had stopped at a yield sign before proceeding eastbound on Senate Avenue after yielding to another vehicle. As Waller entered the intersection from the frontage road, the Ortiz vehicle was nearly through the intersection when the front left of the Waller vehicle struck the right side door of the Ortiz vehicle.
The report noted that bright sunlight to the east created difficult visibility conditions at the time of the accident.
Authorities determined that Ortiz had control of the intersection and that the Waller-driven vehicle failed to yield. Waller was determined to be at fault for the accident.
Damage to both vehicles was estimated at approximately $2,000 each.
No injuries were reported, and due to the difficult driving conditions, no citations were issued.
The Red Oak Police Department investigated the incident.
