The Montgomery County Farm Bureau joined KCSI Radio to talk about how agriculture policy is shaped at the local, state, and national levels.
Krista Huntsman and Iowa Farm Bureau State Board member Will Frazee discussed the grassroots policy process that allows Farm Bureau members to bring forward issues that matter to them, from property taxes to emerging topics like hydrogen development and mineral rights in Iowa.
They also highlighted the importance of agriculture exports, Farm Bureau Day at the Capitol, and how farmers work directly with lawmakers in Des Moines and Washington, D.C. to make sure agriculture has a voice.
Farm Bureau membership is open to both farmers and non-farmers, and the organization encourages anyone interested in agriculture to learn more
