Nishna Productions continues to grow its residential services in southwest Iowa as demand remains strong for accessible, affordable housing for individuals with disabilities.
Emily Martin, development specialist with Nishna Productions, said the organization has built and opened homes in Malvern, Shenandoah, Red Oak, and Essex in recent years, and another new home is currently under construction in Red Oak. The homes are designed as four-bedroom, two-bath, one-story accessible residences. Each includes a laundry room that also serves as a FEMA-approved storm shelter.
Martin said the organization expects the new Red Oak home to be ready for residents by September 1, barring delays. She said there continues to be a waiting list for residential services, especially following the closure of the Glenwood Resource Center and the need to bring some individuals back into Iowa
Nishna Productions also has Movie Trivia Night coming up June 4 at Elm Street Grill in Shenandoah and its annual golf tournament July 9 at the Shenandoah Golf Course.
Nishna Productions is also hiring, with starting pay ranging from $17 to $20 per hour depending on position and shift.
